Brandon Medical Explores New Territory with the
British Antarctic Survey

Leeds based medical lighting specialists, Brandon Medical, have been appointed to supply the British Antarctic Survey with minor mobile surgical examination lamps for medical stations situated in their Antarctic study area.

In association with the National Environmental Research council the BAS is conducting vital projects concerning environmental protection and management.

Half of its 400 staff are stationed in the Antarctic, and with such important work to do in such inhospitable climes, trustworthy equipment is essential.
Brandon Medical's mobile lamps are renowned for their superior quality and reliability. Designed as smaller versions of major operating theatre lamps, the mobile lamps achieve the optimum high intensity, cold, colour corrected and shadow-free light.

Easily manoeuvrable and sterilisable, with optional emergency power supplies and energy management features, they provide the ideal attributes for emergency Antarctic surgery. Best of all they are extremely low maintenance; perfect for those stuck in the middle of nowhere.
