If you were asked to visualise a hospital in terms of architecture, probably one or
two thoughts would surface - either a contemporary building complete with strange looking
sculptures dotted around the place and with a reception not so dissimilar from an Ikea
showroom, or an old Victorian building in good need of a sandblaster and a lick of paint. |

Abbey Gisbourne Park hospital bends all the rules of conception. The private hospital is set in the picturesque village of Gisbourne, Clitheroe, near the Lancashire border. The building wouldn't look out of place inside "Hello" or "OK!" magazines - the only difference being that the inhabitants are more likely to be in medical uniforms or winceyette dressin-gowns instead of Dolce & Gabbana or Gieves & Hawkes. |
| The building has served as a hospital for over 30 years, and has recently undergone many improvements. Modernisations have included, amongst others, an upgrade to the lighting in the orthopaedic theatre. The hospital has long valued Brandon operating theatre lamps, and are familiar with the excellent quality they offer. Abbey Gisbourne were one of the original hospitals to select Brandon Galaxy Lamps when they were first launched in 1986. The products have performed so well that the staff had no hesitation in choosing a lamp from the new Galaxy Ultra range for their refurbishment plans. |
