GALAXY ULTRA -
"Best in Class" Performance in Every Key Criteria."

The Galaxy ULTRA Concept:

To develop a range of operating lamps with "Best in Class" performance for every key criteria identified as being important to Surgeons and Theatre Staff.
Surgeons and Theatre staff throughout the World were asked to define the key features of operating lamps which are important to them. Existing products from the major manufacturers were trailed and assessed to define their shortcomings. Current and proposed International Safety Standard requirements were researched and applied to the product design brief.
Brandon Medical Engineers were given the task to design a new generation of operating theatre lamps, not only to meet these requirements but to surpass them on every count, to go "Beyond", to go to the "Extreme", to be "Excessive" and to develop a product worthy of the name ULTR
.

1st Choice for Hungary

Brandon Medical, the Leeds based manufacturer of medical lighting continues to win export business, beating German and French competitors to win international tenders. Brandon has been selected from 8 major European competitors to supply operating theatre lamps and minor surgical lamps to Satorjaujhely Hospital in Hungary.

Hungarian officials from the hospital visited the prestigious Northern General Hospital in Sheffield where Brandon Medical products have been purchased for the Day Surgery Unit, including Galaxy Operating Theatre Lamps and Minor Surgical Lamps. This is one of the first purpose built Day Surgery Units in England and provides a revolutionary form of service. The new Unit offers state of the art accommodation and is designed on "Patient Focus" principles providing the highest quality service and technological standards for patients.

Brandon Medical and Northern General have built a good working relationship, so the hospital was only too happy to allow consultants from Satorjaujhely to view Brandon Medicals Galaxy Operating Lamps in the Day Surgery Unit. Having seen the quality and performance of the clean modern designs, high technology and excellent value, the Hungarian consultants selected Brandon Medical to supply their entire medical lighting requirements.

Brandon Medical Tool Up to Meet Increased Demand

The Growth is due to 4 new product launches over the last 12 months including, Coolview examination lamps, Medicool and Ergolite bed head lamps, re-developed Minor Surgical lamps and now the NEW Galaxy ULTRA operating theatre lamp range.

Export sales continue to grow in established export markets with expansion into new markets continuing. Brandon Medical made its first ever sale into the Ukraine and into Turkey during 1998 and plans at least 2 new more markets before the millennium.

Brandon Medical have invested in the latest C.N.C. computerised machine tools to expand manufacturing capacity. The first machines were delivered January 1999 with the second tranche due to be commissioned in February. The new investment doubles Brandon Medicals component manufacturing capacity and is part of the drive to maintain world class manufacturing standards. Further investments are planned over the next 3 years.
